Driving traffic with Video sharing site

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by admin on 10-03-2009

A couple of months back, i started exploring how to drive traffic using videos. I started with posting comments on video sites such as youtube to actually creating my own video and posting it with my links in it to drive traffic to my site. I was quite happy that it did drive some traffic to my site though it wasn’t  that fantastic.  Then i begin to get bolder and decided that i should build my own video sharing site ( youtube clone ) so to speak. I must say i have absolutely no IT background and don’t have the slightest idea how i could do it. Did some searches in google on youtube clone script and manage to find a couple of free script i could download. I also came to realise that i need a special hosting package that supports video hosting. ( with ffpmeg ) Eventually i decided to use  a script call phpmotion which comes  free with the hosting service i subscript. Took sometime to setup and upload a few videos. ( you can get them from youtube, dailymotion etc… ) It was a very tedious process i must say. But i eventually got it done and started to add more videos daily. Frankly, after the initial setup, i didnt really do much as i was sidetrack by other projects which i was working on earlier. To my amazement, barely after two month, i am getting a steady flow of 30 unique visitors a day and i hardly did any advertising. I am really very encourage and i tell myself i will start to advertise this site and see if i can drive the traffic to a hundred by end of this month. I must tell you video sharing sites are hot and they are in demand. you should try it for yourself and see what it can do for your site.
